In addition to serving and accompanying refugees, JRS-Belgium also endeavours to safeguard their rights and dignity and advocate on their behalf. This project consists in monitoring and analysing the present situation, developing policy positions and promoting positive public perceptions of refugees. Under this project, JRS-Belgium places special emphasis on asylum procedures and the subsidiary protection, reception and regularisation of asylum seekers.

JRS-Belgium's activities in this area include its participation in awareness raising activities carried out each year under the banner of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, and organises conferences and events. Moreover, it is in regular contact with the media. JRS-Belgium organises most of its activities in coordination with other organisations.
